DVD-R, and DVD+R Discs
We're working hard to make EVERY film on AtticMen.com available on DVD as well as VHS. As an amateur producer we now have the ability to make "professional" style DVD's with menus and chapters, so we've begun making these DVD copies of our VHS films. It's a long-term project and some films won't be available on DVD right away. The plan is to release one film per week.

DVD, DVD-R, and DVD+R Discs
The DVDs available on AtticMen.com are DVD-R and DVD+R (homemade) formats. You can select which format by looking at the text in the pull down menu of the shopping cart for the video...like this:

VHS
DVD-R
DVD+R

You have to know a little about the machine you're going to play it on. Not all DVD Players can play both formats of DVD's. Generally, use these guidelines:

most newer players will play both formats

Generally, players made in 2003 play DVD+R discs.
Generally, players made before 2003 play DVD-R discs..

A "cheap" player my not play either or may play both but no sound..

If you buy a DVD-R or DVD+R and it does not work in your machine then you can send it back and we will send you the other format at no additional charge, and if that still doesn't work then you can return that one too and we'll send you a VHS tape...again, at no additional charge.

Compatibility Web Sites:

There are a number of web sites that have charts that should tell you what DVD format your machine supports. Check all of the charts to make sure you get all the info that is available on your machine.

As stated before, AtticMen.com stands by it's products and if any DVD/DVD-R/DVD+R disc will not play in your machine then we will replace it with a VHS copy of the same video when you return the disc to us . There will be a 25% restock charge for all none defective merchandise.

ATTICMEN DVD Care

1. Never expose a DVD to extreme heat or cold.

2. Remove your DVD from the case by depressing the center ring and grasping the edges of the disk. Refrain from touching the playing surface.

3. Some older DVD players and video games systems may play the DVD incorrectly, skip, or hang up. This usually doesn’t occur on DVD players purchased from 2003 to present, however, if your player does not accept the DVD readily, try it in another player. If it plays properly in one and not the other, there is a compatibility issue. While AtticMen.com cannot assume responsibility for your DVD players’ compatibility we will offer you a VHS in trade if necessary. You may also consider buying a more current DVD player due to the relatively inexpensive price of the players in today’s market.

4. We recommend you purchase and apply a D-skin protective film for your burned DVD as soon as possible. This skin remains in place even during play and protects the disc from scratching. D-skin may be purchased most places electronic & games are sold. If you do not choose to take the above protective measures & your disc becomes soiled, clean it with a SOFT cotton cloth or commercial cd/dvd cleaning kit. AtticMen.com will assume no fault for poorly maintained DVD’s

5. AtticMen.com reserves all duplication rights to products bearing our name. Copied DVD’s will not be of the same quality or functionality as an original. Contact us to purchase additional copies. Is the right thing to do!
